This is the link to the Twins new stadium model. It will be made in 2010 by the Target Center. Some new things in the stadium will be; limestone and wood outer walls with glass knotholes, lights are folded in a huge canopy, capacity will about 40,000, huge HD tv, and a large plaza behind the seats.
This is the link to some pictures of models of the twins stadium. Its neccasry to use models because it gives you a better understanding, and helps you visuilize it. The model also helps people build the stadium that way they know what things should look like. Its very hard to explain a stadium to someone without a model, so with the model people can understand it better.

i liked how original your idea of linking the new stadium to models. good post!
Nice link to the stadiums, but I think you could've elaborated a little more about a model than just a better understanding.
Yes, models help... Good example...Good job...you're amazing...
Great post. Troy (along with almost everyone else) has a similar idea on how models seem to allow people to visualize and comprehend things more easily than if you were to read a description of something. I personally said in my blog that models also help encourage interactive engagement of students which has been shown to increase learning. So all around, models are good.
It's a good example... it could be a little more science related. I think there is more to benefit from a model than just being able to explain something better to someone. As madelyn says in her blog about the spacecraft model, not only does it explain the craft it provides publicity. I think this is a use in your case also.
you answered why this specific model is good, but why are models good in general?
